35mm format are by far the most common slides format, housed in a 50mm x 50mm square mount, usually made of cardboard or plastic, which displays a rectangular image measuring approx 35mm on the long side.

We have 2 different levels of service for 35mm slides, both very high resolution (better than 4K), and both scanned on the same high quality Epson V700 & V800 series scanners, but varying regarding inclusions.

High Resolution Economy Scanning:

We offer High Resolution Economy Scanning with minimum quantities of 100 images for 35mm format only.

• All our slide scanning services are high resolution 3200 ppi scanning with included individual orientation correction. This 3200 scanning resolution will give you a digital image re-printable at approx A4 size at 300 dpi print resolution. And this resolution will give you an image of approx 9 megapixels, so plenty high enough resolution for viewing on even a 4K TV (8.2 megapixels), or just about any computer monitor, iPad, phone etc.

• The Economy Scan service is basically an “as is” scan, with none of the enhancements that come with our ULTRA SCAN (outlined below) - so that’s no colour correction, exposure adjustment, or backlight adjustment included with the Economy service. But a lot of this type of correction can be done with photo editing software after scanning, if you’re so inclined. Other than no enhancement, this is exactly the same quality as the ULTRA scan, using the same high end scanners.

• The rate for 101-500 slides is 99c per slide. For large quantities further discounts apply, as listed below:

501-1000 slides @ 97c per slide
1001-2500 slides @ 94c per slide
2501-5000 slides @ 92c per slide
5001+ slides @ 90c per slide

Plus the USB - usually a 16Gb or 32Gb USB2 at $16.50. We supply trusted Sandisk USB2 flash-drives for Slide Scans.

• Price includes physical dusting (air blower)

• For this service we will accept slides loose, in bags or boxes, trays or carousels or pouch pages, without any limitations or surcharges.

• Strict scanning-in-order is available with this service, subject to them being clearly arranged in an order we can follow.

• Included at no extra cost are separate folders on the USB to match each container/bag.


High Resolution Ultra Scanning:

We offer High Resolution Ultra Scanning with no minimum quantities, and for all slide formats.

• This Ultra scanning service is high resolution 3200 ppi scanning (with 4800 ppi & 6400 ppi upgrade possible) plus with included individual orientation correction, as-we-scan colour correction, and backlighting & exposure adjustments. This 3200 scanning resolution will give you a digital image re-printable at approx A4 size at 300dpi print resolution. And this resolution will give you an image of approx 9 megapixels, so plenty high enough resolution for viewing on even a 4K TV (8.2 megapixels), or any computer monitor, iPad, phone etc.

• No minimums apply, but a setup fee of $25 applies for quantities of less than 100 slides.

For 35mm slides the rate for a quantity of 1–100 is $1.95 per slides. For larger quantities further discounts apply, as listed below:

101-500 slides @ $1.92 per slide
501-1000 slides @ $1.89 per slide
1001-2500 slides @ $1.86 per slide
2501-5000 slides @ $1.83 per slide
5001+ slides @ $1.80 per slide

Plus USB. We supply selected Sandisk USB2 flash-drives for Slide Scans.

Turnaround Timeframes:

Depending on your quantities, we’re quoting approx 4-12 weeks at the moment for slide scanning, not including shipping time. If you’re in a hurry and need it sooner than that let us know, and we may be able to accommodate you.

Please note that with the Christmas season rapidly approaching, large jobs may need to carry over until the new year. Or we can arrange to deliver a part of the job before Christmas.


Christmas Cut-Off Times* for incoming orders:

All jobs requiring shipping must be received no later than 9 am Monday, 11th December 2023, for completion*/invoicing by Dec 18th & Express Postage dispatching no later than Wednesday, 20th December 2023. Australia Post states that the last mailing day is Dec 20th for WA & NT, and Dec 21st for the rest of Australia. Please note that we cannot be held responsible for Australia Post's services.

Pick-up Orders can be placed until Friday, 15th December 2023, for completion*/invoicing by Dec 20th, for collection Dec 20, 21 & 22.

*Any undertaking to try to fully complete a project before Christmas is subject to realistic timeframes considering the size & scope of the project. We will advise if your project cannot fully be processed within the desired timeframe, and discuss options for partial pre-Christmas delivery if that helps.

We can choose only two of the three, and we're unwilling to cut corners on quality. If you have a looming deadline or event, please let us know, and we can discuss some options with you.

• Original media is available for collection upon full payment. Unless prior arrangements have been made, we ask for payments to be made within 7 days of invoicing.

• We like to be as flexible as possible. We’re happy to work with you before commencement of the job to come to a mutually acceptable arrangement. But we do ask that if we have not made alternate arrangements with you before commencement, that you will honour our terms.

For 35mm negatives we offer very high resolution scanning at 3200 ppi (better than 4K) as a minimum, upgradeable to 4800 ppi & 6400 ppi scanning as options.

High Resolution Negatives Scanning:

We offer High Resolution Negatives Scanning with with no minimum quantities. Prices quoted here assume negatives in strips, and we scan all images on a strip with this service. If you have a roll, you can authorise us to cut that up into strips for you. Prices referred to here do not cover negatives supplied as cut up “singles”.

• All our negatives scanning services are high resolution 3200 ppi scanning with included individual orientation correction, and as-we-scan Epson Scan auto colour correction (where this improves the results). This 3200 scanning resolution will give you a digital image re-printable at approx A4 size at 300dpi print resolution. And this resolution will give you an image of approx 9 megapixels, so plenty high enough resolution for viewing on even a 4K TV (8.2 megapixels), or any computer monitor, iPad, phone etc.

• No minimums apply, but a setup fee of $25 applies for quantities of less than 100 slides.

• Cleaning of the originals is limited to high pressure air dusting &/or antistatic wipe.

• Images are adjusted for orientation, and as-we-scan Epson Scan colour correction is applied where deemed advantageous, but no other processing is applied. You will receive a very sharp, high resolution copy of your image in its current condition, but auto colour corrected (where that is an improvement).

• The rate for up to 500 images is $1.45 per image. For large quantities further discounts apply, as listed below:

501-1000 images @ $1.42 ea
1001-2500 images @ $1.39 ea
2501-5000 images @ $1.37 ea
5001+ images @ $1.35 ea

Plus the USB - usually a 16Gb or 32Gb USB2 at $16.50. We supply selected & trusted Sandisk USB2 flash-drives.


• Price includes physical dusting (air blower &/or antistatic wipe)

• Please note that negatives are converted to positive images during the scan process

• Included at no extra cost are separate folders on the USB for each container/envelope

• Please note: We scan all images in a strip. We are not able to scan just selected images within a strip at these rates.

• Customer cut “singles” require a more handling as they are not as easily loaded & correctly aligned into our film holders. These are charged at $3.85 per image.

• Different formats such as 126, 110, half frame, or even loose transparencies are able to be scanned with this service, but higher rates & differing scan resolutions apply to these formats. Please enquire here for more information.

We offer two different processes for scanning paper photos. Depending on the condition and size of the photos, and whether strict scanning in order is important to you, you may be able to take advantage of our famous ShoeBox Scan services, which use highest quality Kodak feed type photo scanners to give an excellent quality scan at a low, low price. Or, if you have photos that are unsuitable for the ShoeBox Scan service due to condition or size, or a job where scanning in strict order is important to you, then you'll want our flatbed scanning services.

Our ULTRA flatbed scanning is performed on quality Epson flatbed scanners. Depending on how your photos are presented the prices will vary. If presented loose, the rates are:

• 600 ppi flatbed scanning up to A4 size (excluding photos smaller than 3 inches (75mm) square $1.35 ea

• 1200 ppi flatbed scanning of images smaller than 3 inches (75mm) square $2.20 ea

• 300 ppi flatbed scanning of photos larger then A4 up to A3 size $6.60 ea

• 600 ppi flatbed scanning of photos larger then A4 up to A3 size $11 ea

Please note that for jobs with less than 100 photos a $25 setup fee will apply. Also all jobs of under 100 are only available as our ULTRA service, including as-we-scan colour correction, exposure adjustment, and backlight correction.

If you have more than 100 images you need scanned then you can choose from our Economy & ULTRA services, with rates as low as .55c for 300 ppi Economy scanning. For photos in albums a number of approaches are possible, including our favourite where you remove the photos, supply them loose & get a great result at a great price with our ShoeBox scan. But we realise that it's not always possible or desirable to remove photos from albums, so we offer a number of approaches to scanning photos in albums.
